WOW. One of the prettiest beaches I have visited. We were treated to a breathtaking sunrise too.
You can walk for miles and miles at Dornoch Beach. There are a number of good parking spaces and they are free. There are also a number of good long walks.
We walked from Dornoch to Embo by the old railway line and then back by Dornoch Beach. For December it was an excellent day, atmospheric, raw and good light for the time of year.
I should say that Dornoch Beach is extremely good for families and would be much busier in the summer months.

Lovely Beach and location. Parking is ample and a donation is requested if you want too. Toilets on site in the parking area. Lots of wildlife, sand , sea , wind and sunshine. Loads of beach to walk with soft sand. Small park for children to play on coffee and cold drinks on site. This is a fairly remote place so expect a variety of weather. I would highly recommend a visit
